Richard is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Connecticut and a National Certified Counselor. He holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University, where he graduated from in 2023 and learned to integrate Catholic anthropology with the field of mental health. Prior to that Richard worked as a substance abuse counselor in a medication-assisted outpatient drug treatment program for 10 years.

Richard is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) by an EMDRIA-approved consultant. He is a member of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, and the EMDR International Association.
