Dr. Ania Zganiacz Portrait

Licensed Psychologist
EMDR Trained

I provide therapy for children (ages 3 +), adolescents and adults. I offer telehealth for adolescents and adults. I utilize a psychodynamic and relational approach (talk therapy) to encourage in-depth exploration of issues that underlie psychological symptoms for optimum, long-term healing. I also employ cognitive behavioral techniques when addressing specific problems that are especially responsive to this form of treatment. I implement non-directive child-centered play therapy and relationship enhancement therapy when working with children and couples/families, respectively. Based on a couples-oriented model, relationship enhancement therapy is particularly helpful in optimizing communication between family members. I am currently being supervised by Dr. Tim Lock, as I integrate EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) into my counseling practice. I am proficient in Polish. I enjoy helping others work through issues related to Depression (including postpartum), Anxiety, Relational Conflicts, Life Transitions, Self-Development, Trauma, and Executive Functioning.

I earned my B.A. from Christendom College and my Doctor of Psychology degree from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences of Divine Mercy University. I completed my doctoral internship with Catholic Charities (Diocese of Arlington, VA).

Dr. Zganiacz continues to be active with the Goretti Center speaking and consulting in various settings.  Unfortunately, at this time, Dr. Zganiacz is not accepting new psychotherapy cases.
