Richard Kubena holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Divine Mercy University. He graduated in 2023 with an education focused on integrating theoretical approaches, with the goal of treating the whole person. This includes being attentive to the interconnections between a person’s physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. Prior to this experience, he served as a substance abuse counselor for 10 years in a medication-assisted outpatient drug treatment program.

Richard is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) by an EMDRIA-approved consultant and in Exposure to Response Prevention (ERP) for treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. He is a member of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, the American Mental Health Counselors Association, the EMDR International Association, and the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology.
